About Me

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to a slower kind of life.

As a child, I imagined a home hidden amongst the trees, surrounded by animals, gardens and endless opportunities for adventure. The details changed over the years, but the feeling never really did. I wanted nature. I wanted space to breathe. I wanted a life that felt connected to the world around me.

Today, I live in the countryside with my partner, our daughter, a collection of dogs, chickens, goats and bees, and more projects than I can realistically keep up with.

This blog is where many of the threads of my life come together.

Some posts explore infertility, pregnancy loss and the long road that led us to parenthood — the parts of our story that shaped us deeply and unexpectedly. Others delve into parenting, child development, slow living, nature, home projects and the everyday joys and challenges of raising a child.

I’ve always been curious. I love learning, reading, researching and occasionally disappearing down very specific rabbit holes. One day that might mean reading about child development; another, planning a vegetable patch or building an outdoor play space. Somewhere in the background there is usually a spreadsheet involved.

Mostly, though, this is a place for reflection.

A place to document the life we’re building, the lessons we’re learning, and the things I wish someone had told me sooner.

Life hasn’t unfolded in quite the way I expected it would.

But then, perhaps that’s true for most of us.

Thank you for reading.
